Description: We use this as a fun closing activity as we are waiting for teachers to pick up their kids. One teacher will need to go out into the hallway with a couple of student volunteers to witness that nothing can be heard from inside of the classroom. Once the teacher is gone the students inside of the classroom will choose a state. Once the state is selected the teacher will return to the classroom and try to guess the correct state. The teacher that stayed inside of the classroom will start naming states. The solution to this activity is to guess the state that follows a state starting with a vowel. So if I said Alabama, the teacher would know the next state is the correct one to choose. Sometimes the kids think we always pick a certain number so if they think that we will also let them choose the number the state is guessed on. The kids really enjoy this activity and have not ever figured it out. |

Description: Students on two different teams walk toward each other until the teacher states an odd or even number or math problem. If the answer is odd, the odd teams runs back to their side before the evens can catch them. If the number is even the opposite is true. If caught, kids join the other team. |
