Description: Students listen to the beginning of the song for the drum part. Students are told to find own space and lay on the ground. Three to five noodles are given out for taggers. When the drums start all students (including the taggers) kick their legs in the air as fast as the drums go. When the guitar starts playing, all students stand up and flee from the taggers. If a person is tagged they receive the noodle and turns into the tagger. The previous tagger has to perform a stationary swim movement (arm strokes) or dance until the next drum section plays. When the next drum series start all students (including the taggers) stop and lie back down and kick legs. When guitars play again a new tag game is started. There are 4 rounds within this song. |

Description: This lesson was used with grades 1-5 teaching them about Simple Machines and Motion. I stole this great lesson from Jeremy Seward who posted it here on PE Universe and I made some adaptations using the equipment that I had. I reposted a smiliar lesson because this lessons truely validates what we do as professionals and it demonstrates how we strive to support them. This is a really fun lesson and if you have a larger gym, it would be cool to introduce more Motion concepts/stations. However, my gym is small so I limited it to 6 stations. |
