My name is Kurt Thomas and I am currently working at a private school and looking to go public. I have been on a few interviews for public schools and every single school says I need more experience. Could anyone tell me what I need to do to get more experience and what I should I bring to the interview to make an impact on the administration to separate me from the other candidates. Thanks for your help in advance!

Hey Kurt! How long have you been teaching? What grade level? Some schools say that but new tachers right out of college get jobs, so hang in there!! If your only been teaching a few years, stay there, if possible for a few more to gain experience! But keep putting ur resumes out there and hang on to your job so u always have one!! Do you know anyone who has been teaching for awhile or a former professor who can get you a letter of rec.? On interviews, bring a portfolio of transcripts, letters of rec., evaluations, lessons you have done, perhaps a sample yearly plan! And don't limit yourself to certain schools, perhaps you may have to go after a school you don't like as much to get started!!
