Hot Spotz

Hot Spotz is a fast paced game that involves dribbling, shooting, and most important team work. All students are active participants cooperatively working with their team to gain the most points by collecting Hot Spotz from around the basket. My students are motivated by not only the instant gratification of collecting a Hot Spotz on a made basket but that they can shoot and be successful according to their skill level with Spotz of varying levels of difficulty. The shot selection is up to the individual from several feet from the basket to three point shots. I hope you to have great success implementing Hot Spotz into your physical education program. Look for my future addition of Hot Spotz as a tournament.

Fantastic: simple, user-friendly, great team game, and will be a great addition to my BB unit.

I appreciate and welcome your feedback. The video doesn't truly capture how much my students really do enjoy hot spotz. Students make more postive comments about this activity than anything else we do all year. I especially like seeing the court filled up with polyspots, small cones, and large cones before the action begins.

My students are still talking about hot spotz after playing the game last week. A few of my students remarks: "The funnest game we've played this year." "I like seeing how many hot spotz I can make for my team." "I don't like basketball but hot spotz is fun" Thanks for sharing your activity!

My after school youth program really enjoys this game. I have a wide variety of ages and skill level in my group and Hot Spotz allows for a lot of variability to how different kids can contribute. This also allows for a lot of strategy and gameplanning.

Thanks for this! I love basketball and try to make it fun for those who aren't that interested. We are trying this tomorrow.

I LOVE IT! It is a great activity for all kids and all skill levels. How can I incorporate this activity in my classes without having basketball goals in my gym? Thanks for sharing the excellent activity with us.
