Sounds like a fun way to integrate math in P.E. I'll definitely try this one. Thanks.

I HIGHLY recommend that you remind students that if they say a number out loud it will RUIN, I repeat RUIN the game!!!! Did I mention that if students say a number out loud it will RUIN the game??!! I go over the top to remind students of this because the first couple of times that I attempted this we had a few "accidents."

Just tried it this morning with great success. I had a couple of classes that were revealing their numbers and yes, the game was ruined immediately. After that, I too went over the top about that rule. My last three classes of the morning all did a great job (3rd grade). One modification I tried was spelling the numbers out on their backs and having them convert to a number on their card - and I plan to reverse that next time. I also envision using shapes, money and time depending on the grade level. This game provides an excellent platform for curriculum integration. Thanks for sharing!

Great to hear Tommy. My idea is to build upon this. One idea is to have the number written on a circle or square, which would be either red or blue. Each student would have an individual number, and half would be circles or squares, and half would be re or blue. So an example of a student code may be #13, Circle, Red.

You can also do it with spelling words, see which spelling word they are. And you can assign an exercise for it such as 10 jumping jacks. So when they figure out what word they are they do the exercise to tell you instead of telling you the word and then you can have them spell it out. Do it with math problems. Where each student is a number but they have to figure it out by solving the math problems on their classmates backs. I love this idea! Will try it for sure! Thanks for sharing!

I really like the idea of the game. I was thinking on trying it a little differently. In this version each student will know their own individual number. Instead their goal is to try to record every other students' numbers correctly. This will stop the game from being ruined if students tell someone else the number. They would still have to find out all of the other students' numbers. Look to see how many students can correctly identify the class's numbers.

I found that printing the numbers out on mailing labels makes the set up process of this game go much faster. Just peel the label, stick it to the student and go!
