I think that this is a great way to help your students and you as a teacher stay organized. The more units or different activities that are taught, the easier it is going to be because you can just add more tabs to the binder. I also really like the little pouch that was made with the plastic baggie to hold a pencil and an eraser, that was a really good idea. I also like the colored paper, for each section, that information can be printed on to one color of paper, that way if the tab falls out, they can still find that section because it is color coded. I like how they keep it in their phys ed. locker so that way they will never forget it for class. Great idea to increase organization.

I really like the idea of a binder system to use for middle school. It's easy for the teacher to stay organized and even easier for the students. The different sections are a good idea so that the students do not get confused when trying to study or look back at activities. I also like the creativity that goes along with this binder. The students design their own cover and put on it what they would like to related to Phys. Ed. The best part about the binder system I think is how the teachers constantly put feedback and comments on the worksheets so that the students have a study guide built in. By having the binder in their lockers, misplacing or forgetting the binder will be more difficult than normal. The system gives the students more responsibility and allows them to be better organized.

I really like this idea. The thing I like most about it is that with Physical Education there is not a lot of time that can be wasted dealing with papers. So if students have a binder to put all their papers into, then that will save time. Also this is great because instead of the teacher creating review sheets for tests, the students have all the papers they need to take home and study. No excuses can be made because the students are in possession of all their papers. I like the idea of creating different tabs for sections of the class. That helps the students stay organized. Lastly, putting baggies in their binders for pens/pencils is a good idea. Most students don't think about bringing a pencil to P.E. with them. So this idea eliminates the risk of students forgetting.

I really like this idea of students having a binder. It is a great way for students to keep their assignments in one place. Having an binder will allow the students to refer back to previous assignments and see how they have progressed throughout the class. It is also a very organized system to where everything is kept together under tabs, which may save time when you use this during class. Lastly, this gives students a form of self responsibility by keeping their papers in a binder and allows them to be prepared for every class.

I think having a binder for physical education is a great idea. It keeps the students organized and gives them a sense of responsibility. Also, this makes it easier for teachers to assess students because everything is organized and easily accessible. This is also a great idea because at the end of the year, students will have a portfolio already compiled of everything that they have done in physical education the whole year. Students can look through their binder and easily reflect on everything that they have learned throughout the year. One idea I have is to start this at the beginning of middle school, and then keep some of every student's work from each year. Then, in 8th grade, or at the end of middle school, show students what they had completed in past years. Many times, students are excited to reflect on things that they have worked on in years past.

I personally believe having a binder for physical education shows how it is evolving as a whole. Many individuals do not look at physical education as important as the core class (math, science, etc.) I also think this is a good idea because students will look at physical education on a different level as well. If there are expectations and standards they are going to approach it differently. As the binder evolves throughout the year, they can see their progress as well as show their family and friends what they have been learning. After the year is over, students might even be able to use it as a reference for future classes and/or on an everyday basis.

This binder system is an excellent alternative assessment for all students. I like how the teacher is able to analyze the work of each individual, providing necessary feedback. With the notebooks left in the PE lockers, the class can come prepared with the materials needed for each lesson. Additionally, affective, psychomotor, and cognitive skills can be assessed, especially within the three sections. Having the tabs that separate the social, fitness, and skill categories allows the students to have an organized binder and easily access the material. The binder can be used as a product assessment task in which students can store their assignments such as drawings, collages, or photos. Furthermore, the binder can be a portfolio in which student work and additional information gathered over the year can be placed in order for students to reflect on their work or for teacher/parents to read. With that being said, the binder system is a great opportunity for individuals to be responsible for their own work and study habits.

Kids write down work. Saves time with all papers. Easy to stay organize. Place for standards, fitness, and skills. Kids get notes to study and take home. Work on their own. Kids are held accountable because they have all the information. Students take ownership because they create their own binders. Teacher has to give feedback to students so the kids can improve. Teaching kids to be more responsible.

Very creative way to keep things stored. I'm sure many teachers face the same problems with organization, and this is interesting innovation. It is always a smart idea to have physical evidence of students' work, so there are no questions or concerns regarding grades
