King Pin (new version)

The goal of this game is to knock down the other team's 6 pins. You can do so by throwing and rolling a dodgeball from your side of the gym (where you are safe) or by taking a risk and crossing the center line to get closer to the pins. If you get tagged on the other team's side, you then go to jail. To get out of jail one of your teammates has to throw a ball to you and you have to catch it. If you catch it, you then turn and try to make a basket. If you make it, everyone in jail is free, if you miss, only you are free from jail. Play until one team knocks down the other team's 6 pins. Our students love this game!

The best part about this game by far is the music:) I like the tunes.

I here you there. Sometimes I wonder if I am PE teacher or just a cool DJ playing all the cool songs made way b4 these kids were born. :)

I feel the same way. They love the oldies! Some lessons I don't use music and the kids are like, "where is the music?"

My students love capture the flag, and I'm always tweaking the game to get them more active- this is great!

I played King Pin today with my 4th and 5th graders and we had a great time! It was fun to watch the teams start with little to no teamwork and as the game progressed they began realizing that communication and teamwork was essential for success. Thanks so much for sharing Jay!

My 3rd graders really enjoyed it. At the end of class, I always allow the kids to rate new games that we play. 1 thumb up means they like it and 2 thumbs up means they love it. Every kid gave it 2 thumbs up. Thanks Jay!
