Homophone Hustle
Groups of 2-3 start at a starting line and run down to a grid of words (homophones) that are placed on the floor. I used 10 pairs for each group. The first student flips over two cards, if they get a match, they keep the pair and place it by their bowl, if they do not get a match, they return back and their partner/opponent takes their turn. Keep playing until all the matches are found. Modifications 1. Have students flip over three cards and see if two of them match. 2. Have students who are injured sit by the cards and their turn is just the flipping portion of the game. 3. Use different locomotor skills during the activity.
