posted Parachute Games
It's my first time doing parachute and I am looking for good activities/games that people have done with the parachute that their students have enjoyed.  They would have to be games that are easy to explain and understand because I plan to do it with head start and K.  Although, I will take all ideas because I may decide to do it with first and second too depending on how it goes.  Thanks.

posted Field Day
I am a first year teacher at a prek-6th grade school and apparantly, field day is a huge deal at my school so I am expected to put one together.  I will talk to other teachers to see what kind of activites they have done in the past, but I was hoping for some ideas of activties that your students really enjoy so I can bring in some new activities.  We will probably have two field days:  A primary day (prek-2nd) and secondary day (3-6th) so I am looking for ideas for both.  I have limited equipement so it can't be too extravagant.  Any ideas are greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

posted Outside Strategies/Activities
Hello all.  With the recent nice weather, I would like to start taking the younger students outside (K-2nd) who have not been outside all year and have been used to limited space (just a classroom), so I am worried about the transition.  Are there any strategies you have used that work well outdoors.  I don't want to go outside and have them see all this open space and just run free like it's recesss.  I want to take advantage of the space, but still keep everything under control.  One thing I was thinking about was using spray paint to paint lines and spots for the students to go to (or a circle to sit in) I am also looking for activities to do outside with the younger ones other than tag games.  Any ides for fun games to teach kicking or throwing/catching? Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

posted Valentine's Day Games
Anyone have some good valentine's day games they have done with elementary students?  Only one I can think of is doing my grinch scooter game but have the taggers as "cupid" instead of the grinch, but not sure what the students were be scooting down to get.....gifts for their valentine...i'm not sure.. I am looking to do something different anyways since they did that for x-mas.  Any ideas is greatly appreciated.  I would have the cafeteria available for 3-6, but only have a classroom for the younger ones.  Thanks.

created K-2 kicking unit
Any ideas on how to teach and have students practice kicking without being able to use soccer balls, playground balls or gator skin balls?  I only have the space of a classroom.  I was thinking of maybe having them practice the motion of kicking using whiffle balls and then after they have it down, maybe do kicking relays using a playground ball where they kick it and try to knock down a pin, then kick it back to the next person in line (at least the best I can with the space I have).  Any other ideas?  Anything is much appreciated.  Thanks.
