RE: Grading in Elementary P.E.
Randy , check out this link Grading from my homepage . There is a rubric there along with a report card . It was a great model to watch the students use a scope and sequence . They practiced the skill and continued through the skills and moved to the next level when they were ready . The grades were (O<S<N) and I made sure that if there was an improvent when they struggled they could attain more consideration for a grade. This was elementary level and done many years ago before I retired . They knew and so did the parents exactly where they were. I never thought shoes , clothes as a deterrent just so it was a safe situation . Each year I adjusted the skills and made alternatives . I didn't spend alot of time with this so not to spend too much time testing .
