- Brief Description
- I have been a Physical Education teacher for 14 years. The primary objective of physical education is for students to demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities. In a quality physical education program built around the Movement Framework, students will develop competency in locomotor skills: skipping, running, hopping, galloping, sliding, leaping, jumping and landing; non-locomotor skills: curling, twisting, stretching, bending, swaying, spinning, swinging, sinking, rising, opening, closing and gesturing; and manipulative skills: striking, collecting, carrying, catching, throwing, kicking, dribbling and volleying. These skills are what the body does in the Movement Framework. It is important to remember that achieving competency in motor skills requires focused practice, feedback, encouragement and perseverance. Hopefully, this leads to a physically active lifestyle that promotes lifelong wellness!! http://fairviewpe.blogspot.com/
