Music has had the 642-971 next biggest impact. but you have to take some things into account before you incorporate music into your class. by how you described your situation- i highly doubt your kids would respond well to stereotypical PE music- you know...YMCA, Eye of the Tiger, blah blah blah. i'm sorry but all that stuff 312-49 is, in fact, too dated and will not impact their moods the way you want. I play the music they like to listen to. i try to stay up to date and i screen the songs thoroughly so there are no BH0-006 explicit lyrics. music has become a sourse of motivation and incentive in my class. and in my experience, when working with students from low-ses HP2-Z05 families, music is a big part of their lives and can impact their mood drastically. hope any of this helps, and good luck.

If you need a ipod remote that works 150 feet away from anywhere in the gym and works with all generation ipods. Then the ijet remote works the best. I have one and I love it. The place to get one is valueoutfitters.com. If you are confused then call them up toll free and they will direct you to the correct one. Be sure you know what generation of ipod you have. It is the best remote and it only costs about $25. Every P.E. teacher needs one.

I bought a Scoshe RF that is made to attach to your steering wheel. It is tiny so we rigged it up on lanyard so I can wear it and it has been super. Cost me 54.00 with shipping from Amazon. Works anywhere in the gym, item # SCOSHIPNRFC. I use is with my iTouch but not sure of my iPhone.

I have been teaching with music for at least 10 years now. I never use a whistle...don't even own one. Music is the greatest management tool as well as a great motivator. I started using an IPOD about 2 years ago and I it has taken my lessons to a whole new level. I create my lessons by also creating a playlist that compliments the skill, activity, or theme. For me the music adds to the learning environment for the students. Now concerning the remote, I have yet to have one work. That is one reason I value the playlist because the songs I select guide the sequence of activities so I don't have to stop the music as much during a lesson. I am an itinerant APE teacher so I need a portable IPOD dock. I am on my 4th, still not completely happy...need to save up for a BOSE.

I have used my itouch with a remote app all year and love it. I have a speaker system that I hook up my computer to and simply use my itunes and play whatever I want from my computer and don't have to burn so many cd's like in the old days!

I use a "HOMEDOCK/Music Remote" by Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (have a 4th generation nano). Love it! Accessible anywhere in the gym and adjacent hallway; it also has a volume control, charges the iPod, and doesn't interfere with the microphone that I use.

Eric, what is the brand name of the remote? We've been using a Scosche remote with our 2nd Gen Nano. It worked well for a while. I think it's time for a new battery though. We could pretty much walk anywhere in the gym and it would work.

The remote I found is a radio frequency (rf), which tends to be a bit more reliable than an infared (the kind w/ the little sensor on the front) Also, maybe see Jay's comment about a new battery?...

My IPOD remote does not go across my gym, are there different powers for remotes? I agree that music is such a great motivator! I am using "party in the USA" as a great stretching song....then add keep the "fire burning". Just have to watch the lyrics.Any ideas about the remote?

I just use cd's. But when music is on they know what to do and when it's off they know what to do! Music is great! When I don't have it on, the kids ask where's the music!

I have been using an IPOD for a couple years and also use a remote. My remote works a little past half way across the gym....i did notice though right when I got the remote I was able to get nearly all the way across. My battery must be going. I also find I blow my whistle far less. when the musics stops...the kids stop.
